What couch size is best for me?
The standard size of a couch is about 28 inches / 70cm wide by 72 inches / 180cm long.(With the headrest 83 inches / 207cm long.) This standard matches the needs of the client with an average body size and for the body worker who is 5 foot 9 / 175cm or less. Most body workers prefer to work with a 29 or 30-inch couch, especially if they have bigger clients and are taller than 5 foot 9. A larger, however, is heavier than the standard couch.
What is the best couch for my practice?
All MASTER MASSAGE™ couches are multi-purpose couches. They work for all massage techniques. In selecting a couch, you may wish to consider the following:
- Although the MASTER MASSAGE™ couches are not made specifically for Reiki and Cranio-sacral bodywork, they provide enough legroom to work well with these techniques.
- A good choice for energy work and Reiki is the Santana-Couch with Reikipanels. The Oval Deluxe Couch (with Feng-Shui principles) is also suitable.
- For Osteopathic methods, choose a couch with 2 inches or less of padding.
- All of our couches are oil proof and waterproof and are easy to clean with soap and sponge.
- Most of our massage couches come with a Multi-adjustable Headrest and all are height adjustable.
Why should I choose your new MasterLite and what are the advantages?
This couch is your best choice if you:
- travel a lot
- cannot carry much
- visit clients at their homes
- had or have back problems
- want to impress clients with a couch that has an extraordinarily beautiful design
- want a light weight couch but do not want to compromise on stability and quality
- are price-conscious
Which headrest is best for my practice?
Our multi-adjustable headrest is quite flexible, and will meet the needs of any bodyworker or client.
Which thickness of foam should I look for in a couch?
Some body workers prefer a 2-inch thick padding, because it provides more resistance, and thus they can administer a more intense massage. On the other hand, some body workers are more concerned with the client's comfort and thus choose a 3-inch thick padding. In either case, it is critical that you choose a couch with dense, small-cell foam, so the couch will retain its form after many years of use.

What is the advantage of the double lock system?
Important! This System supplies a long lasting stability. Because wood is known to be slightly moving over the time, we always propose a couch with Double Lock System.

What is the patented Auto Lock Frame and Leg System?
This system enables you to effortlessly set up your table in 5 to 10 seconds. There is no assembly required, and you can get to work right away.
How much weight does a MASTER MASSAGE™ couch support?
All of our couches generally support at least 2,000 pounds of static weight and 500 pounds of working weight. Please see the individual couch descriptions for more details.
What is a UL Listing?
"UL listing" means that the massage couch has been tested by Underwriters Laboratory, an independent product quality verification organization in the U.S. Only the best massage couches have this certificate of excellence. By selecting a UL-listed couch, you demonstrate to your clients your commitment to their safety. You may find that having a UL-listed couch is an advantage, should a question of liability arise.
What should I do to keep my massage couch in good condition?
After you first receive your massage couch, it is a good idea to check all screws and knobs to verify that they are still tight. During transit, temperature changes and varying humidity levels may loosen them. This process will take only a couple of minutes.
To help maintain the couch's stability in the future, follow this simple maintenance schedule:
Every 1 to 6 months (depending on how frequently the couch is used), or if you notice any looseness in the couch, check and tighten:
- the 8 knobs for the height adjustment (by hand)
- the 8 screws on both wooden leg panels (use a screwdriver)
- all joints of the leg and frame system (use an Allen wrench)
What accessories do I need?
Most of our MASTER MASSAGE™ couches are equipped with all of the accessories needed to start your bodywork. Yet we do offer some additional accessories, which are available on the "Accessories" page.
